Averasboro Battlefield Reenactments and Living History Demonstrations Events take place in March and October. In March, reenactments are held in conjunction with the anniversary of the Battle of Averasboro that took place March 15-16, 1865. General William C. Lee Celebration Held in Dunn during the first weekend of June every five years to honor Dunn's hometown hero and Father of the American Airborne. The next festival is planned for June 2 - 5, 2011. It will be the 25th Anniversary of this celebration! Touchstone Energy North Carolina Cotton Festival Held annually in Dunn the first weekend in November. The festival's goal is to bring recognition to one of North Carolina's prime agricultural products "cotton," and through this process attract people to Dunn's downtown. There are more than 100 food and craft booth spaces available each year.
