Historic markers outline the events of the March 1865 military action, the prelude to Bentonville. The property highlights Lebanon, a plantation home used as a Confederate Hospital and the Chicora Cemetery where the battle’s dead are buried. The museum outlines the conflicts and contains artifacts from the battle found on the battlefield as well as period uniforms, a diorama and more. Annual living history events and reenactments are held at the site.

The Bearded Goose 77 Barber Shop was created as a traditional barber shop, where customer service engulfs every greeting, every service, and every action. Anthony “Biff” Graham, founder of the Bearded Goose, had dreams of bringing back the old-school style and proven tonsorial processes in a barber shop. Those dreams quickly became reality. After retiring from the US Air Force, with over 20 years of service, Biff decided to follow his dream by attending Central Carolina Community College barber program.
Many people ask the question: “Where did the name Bearded Goose come from?”
Prior to attending barber school, Biff was a professional driver for a local trucking company. During his time as a truck driver, he was given the name Bearded Goose from a fellow driver because of the type of trailers he delivered loads with, and the beard that he grew after 20 years of shaving daily. Once the decision was made to open a shop, the name was obvious. Also having close ties with Biff’s Scottish heritage, the name expresses the style and tradition of naming shops and pubs in the old country.
The Bearded Goose is not an average run of the mill barber shop. The personal setting and intimate experience will take each client back to the days when gentleman grooming was not a treat, but an essential. The demand for true barber skills are more prevalent now than ever before. Men from all walks of life will feel welcomed in the Bearded Goose by way of old memories from yesterday, beginning new traditions of their own or just wanting to experience an amazing service from their local barber.
